The Library is seeking a proven candidate with superior technological and administrative abilities, strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to create an environment that encourages progressive change and innovation.  The successful candidate should be results-oriented and able to respond energetically, professionally and creatively to new challenges.  The Library has recently migrated to the Evergreen automation system and offers a variety of online reference databases and indexes, educational games for children, and other library technology applications. The new Systems Administrator must have networking, server, hardware and software working experience; be proficient in SQL; and knowledgeable of open source resources and their application to the library setting.

 

This position requires a Master's degree from college or university accredited by the American Library Association in Library and Information Science, with specialization in information technologies and library automation systems and services, supplemented by three to five years of relevant library administrative, automated system and training experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Salary range is $49,002 to $58,802.  Excellent fringe benefits package includes health and dental insurance, paid vacation and sick leave, and State retirement.
