We are seeking a librarian for a 2 year term to create, co-ordinate and implement cataloguing policies and standards for the Saskatchewan library system.

You will provide coordination, consensus building, project management, analysis and problem solving on issues relating to present day and future cataloguing and metadata standards and services. Areas include cataloguing standards and protocols, technical library services, migration of bibliographic data to a Single Integrated Library System, evolving Union Catalogue services.

 

Our successful candidate will have knowledge of library cataloguing and metadata standards, policies and procedures; cataloguing tools. You will also have the ability to manage and provide technical services in Horizon and Millennium cataloguing environments to Provincial Library clients, original cataloguing and classification in all subject matters and formats, and to build consensus by stakeholders on cataloguing standards as well as advise and lead on changes forthcoming in cataloguing and metadata tools and standards.

A Masters degree in Library Science is required and 3 years relevant experience is recommended.
