| Responsibilities : PURPOSE: Responsible for supervising the library facilities, services, and student assistants on evenings and weekends; or independently in a branch library. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Oversees key public services that are maintained during all library hours (e.g., circulation, course reserves, directional reference assistance). 2. Deploys, trains, schedules, and evaluates, student employees. 3. Investigates and resolves problems or issues affecting library services through interactions with patrons, library staff, and other key library contacts (such as campus security) and contributes positively to the library’s service culture. 4. Maintains full understanding of unit’s functions and performs them as necessary for smooth operation of library services. 5. Ensures safety of patrons and staff. Ensures good working order and availability/security (as appropriate) of library facilities, equipment, and other resources. 6. Performs other duties as assigned or requested. |

Requirements : QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERTISE: Two to three years library experience, a Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of experience, education and training. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Work performed in normal office environment with normal noise levels. Frequent sitting. Occasional standing, walking, computer key board and phone use. Infrequent bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching above shoulders. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. |
