The Lucius E. and Elsie C. Burch, Jr. Library seeks a highly motivated team player, with good communication, writing and people skills, and a strong community service orientation.  This position requires ability to multi-task and problem solve.  The Adult Services Manager is responsible for management of the Adult Services Unit, including scheduling, supervision, coaching and assessing one full-time and two part-time reference associates, selection and management of the adult collection, budgeting, providing adult programming, creation of public relations materials,  assisting at the Information Desk, creating and sustaining excellent internal and external customer service, assisting in the formulation and interpretation of policies and procedures, and acting as a part of the library's management team.

The position is full time, with flexibility to work evening and weekend hours; excellent benefits; opportunities and expectations for employee development;  performs other tasks as assigned.        

Qualifications include:  Master of Library Science, two years of progressive management or supervisory experience,  collection development experience, adult services experience in a public library, familiarity with MS Office programs, online databases and design of print materials.
