The Virtual/Research Librarian will provide professional level information management services in a digital library environment. Functional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
ยท Providing information services, collection development, staff and user training, orientations, outreach, marketing, and public relations activities.
ยท In-depth research, employing a high level of expertise in information tools, resources, and methods related to the aerospace manufacturing industry.
ยท Maintenance of digital vendor relationships and renewals.
ยท Online licensing agreement review.
ยท Evaluation of information resources.
ยท Customer support for information queries and troubleshooting.
ยท Project management activities: manage to a budget; track activities and hours; report status; manage customer relationship; report metrics.
ยท Web interface maintenance and planning; HTML updates.
ยท Analysis of user community information needs and access requirements.
Requires a minimum of four (4) years of engineer/aerospace experience in an information management setting such as a digital information center, library, or records center with increasing responsibilities related to planning for information services and systems, project implementation, collection management, and staff utilization. Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting information needs and resources is required. Good data-entry, analytical and organizational skills are required as well as good verbal and written communication skills. Must be customer service oriented.
Must have a Master's degree in Library or Information Science.
Willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA
Occasional travel -- ~ 2 times/year.
