I'm a stay-at-home mom (previous career in advertising / account management) very interested in pursuing a Masters in Library and Information Science degree for my second career. I've read about the U of I program; it works with my lifestyle (young children, husband who travels for work), but don't know how difficult it might be to get accepted into the program. Does anyone have any idea how competitive the application process is? Thanks for any insight that you might have!

Petersons.com has this sort of information for quite a few library programs; according to this page, the student statistics are: "Average age 31. 624 applicants, 51% accepted, 163 enrolled." http://bluestockinglibrarian.wordpress.com/
