I recently applied to Kent State's MLIS program, since its the only program in Ohio I am a little nervous about if I am going to be accepted or not. Anyone know how hard it is to get into the program?

Disclaimer: I am a graduate and adjunct for that program. I suspect it all depends on the number of people that apply, but they are one of the larger programs in library science. You never know what they are looking at for each admitted class. I do not mind sharing a story about my application process. My grades were not great after finishing a bachelor in chemical engineering. I had a GPA of 2.8 and some very poor grades for a couple classes on my transcript. In comparison to many of my engineering peers, they really were not that bad, but in comparison to other undergraduate programs it was not a fair comparison. I applied for the dual MLS/MBA program. I was admitted to KSU SLIS on conditional requirements to prove after a couple classes that my undergraduate GPA was not reflective of my ability. The MBA program admitted directly with no conditions. Do not stress too much over it!

Jessie,
I don't know anything about this program, but wanted to wish you Good Luck!
Keep in mind that many things factor into a graduate programs decision.

I too graduated from Kent State, and I really don't think you should worry about it too much. I had a great GPA and lots of prior library experience, but I had acquaintances there who had no library experience, had completely unrelated bachelor's degrees (glassblowing?), and some who truly did terribly in their undergrad. I don't know anything 'officially', but while I was taking classes, it never seemed like the classes were overflowing and they had to accept only the best of the best or anything like that.
