Hello all, I'm new here and could desperately use some advice. I have a JD (law school graduate) and am trying very hard to get into the law librarian field with no success so far at all. :( I have a JD and legal writing and research experience but no real library experience (just volunteering) and no library degree so far. I have applied to start library school this fall but with so much debt from law school already, I was really hoping to find a job in a law library somewhere and work my way through school. Trouble is, most places already want both degrees. And with nothing more than a minimum wage job right now, I'm worried about how I can afford to go to library school.
Are there any law librarians or librarians in legal fields who could offer me some helpful tips and advice on how I can increase my chances of breaking into the field? Any input would be very greatly appreciated. I have already tried finding jobs in libraries but with the economy, it's very hard right now. I've made some contacts but they've been of no help in actually getting a job.
